Criss-Cross Gerber

Criss-Cross Gerber For Minor Suits If you have agreed on a minor suit as the trump suit, consider using CC Gerber instead of a Blackwood call. If your suit is diamonds, a bid of 4 is the criss-cross suit, and if your suit is clubs then
4 is the criss-cross suit. Both bids use Keycard Gerber where the king of trump is
treated as an ace.
Word of advice: 4NT Blackwood does not work for minor suits, especially for the club suit, so agree to never use it! If your suit is clubs, then any response to 4NT except 5 , immediately commits you to
slam. That can't be good.
Any form of Blackwood that asks with a 4NT bid, including Roman Keycard, works very well if your suit is spades, but it does not work at all for clubs, and poorly for the red suits. Roy Wilson |
